San Francisco Intimacy & Sex Therapy Centers is a group of highly specialized boutique-style relationship and sex therapy centers.

We are the leading couples therapy and sex therapy center in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

Our Center focuses on the goal of making the practice of couples counseling and sex & intimacy therapy more relationship-focused and accessible, without the stigma and confusion that often accompanies misperceptions about couple and sex therapy.

We promote a positive view of all types of relationships and understand the importance of being sensitive to trauma and different identities, including LGBTQIA+, BIPoC, and those involved in BDSM, kink, polyamory, and sex work, as well as individuals of various sizes and neurological differences.

Our specialties include therapy that takes a trauma informed lens and focuses on healthy attachment, sex therapy, and relationship counseling.

Join California’s top team of expert couples counselors, LGBTQIA+ therapists, attachment-focused therapists, clinical sexologists, and sex therapists.

You can also earn hours towards AASECT certification in Sex Therapy with the correct supervision and training, and clock hours toward licensure if applicable. You must have your own supervision in place.

We are here to help meet your referral needs and will work with you to build your client base. Most of our practitioners see between 8 and 20 clients a week.

Pre-licensed clinicians may qualify if their supervisors and professional boards agree. We also collaborate with relationship and sexuality professionals who don’t require licenses, such as certain coaches and sexologists.

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an independent contractor, you will need to provide the location—whether in-person or online—for your sessions, along with a business phone, email, and other essential tools for your practice.

Currently we are only hiring practitioners that offer in person or a hybrid of virtual and in- person in San Francisco, East Bay, Napa, Berkeley, Oakland, Los Angeles and surrounding areas.

You are responsible for having your own malpractice insurance.

You must comply with all relevant federal, state, local, and professional regulations, including business permits and necessary licenses.

Your role includes providing therapy or coaching for individuals and partners and managing your client-load as agreed upon with the Center.

You’ll have the freedom to create your own schedule, and we trust you to dedicate adequate time to meeting with clients from the Center.

We accept applications on a rolling basis, and start dates are flexible.

We’re looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about relationship counseling, sex therapy, and attachment-focused approaches, or other specific areas of expertise like EMDR, LGBTQIA+ therapy, gender therapy, etc.

You should maintain an active registration as a licensed clinician if it applies to you.

You must follow legal and ethical guidelines as defined by California and federal regulations.

Applicants should have clinical experience and training in attachment-based couples and sex therapy or similar fields, as well as a commitment to further developing their skills through ongoing professional education.

We value teamwork and welcome you to share your strengths and interests with the group.

• PhD

• Doctor of Human Sexuality

• Psychological Assistant (with a supervisor willing to sign on)

• Licensed Clinical Psychologist

• Clinical Sexologist

• AASECT Certified Sex Therapist

• Other certifications related to sex therapy

• Sex Therapist (not AASECT certified)

• Certified Somatic Based Sexuality Coach

• WRAP therapist

• Sexological Bodyworker

• Somatic Experiencing Practitioner

• Any other relevant trainings (please specify on your application).

You will need your own office space for seeing clients. We often welcome applications from those who only work online, which may include practitioners outside the SF Bay Area, or even outside the state or country, depending on their qualifications. Currently we are focused on in person applicants.

We connect clients with independent therapists who partner with us, and we provide tools such as customized marketing / scheduling / billing / feedback / training opportunities / resources / peer consultation to cultivate the most efficient process.

We do not directly provide therapy and coaching, but rather, support our community of expert therapists and coaches in building their private practices while supporting clients in receiving the best attachment-based intimacy and sexuality counseling.
